Canyon Shadow

Somewhere in the Northern Canyon systems, eroded by long gone rivers, a beast ends its temporary rest. It's presence in these canyons renders everything silent, all but the crumbling of rock and the whistling of the wind.
Although everything here is a predator, the Canyon Shadow is without a doubt at the top of its food chain, which can best be attributed to its extremely sensitive auditory pad with little "hairs". This individual will resume its search for food in the afternoon sun, picking out any that can't find shelter in this bleak environment.

This piece has been sitting in my folders for over a year now, and I’ve finally finished it, having lost the original to a crash and retrieving a slightly less quality image of it (cleaned it up and enhanced the image to its best), and working off of that. I’m most proud of the rocks, which I can say roughly 90-95% is painted by me and my own hand. Only a few tiny blotches here and there are the result of some photo bashing.
